4. THE WATER CYCLE

Think about the water you drink or you use to clean with.

Where do you imagine it comes from?

The water of our planet make a journey from seas, lakes, lagoons or rivers. Then, it becomes clouds. Finally, it returns until the same places. How does it happen? This process is called “THE WATER CYCLE”.

Let´s start learning THE WATER CYCLE with a fun video. The video is about two little drops who make a journey along the phases of the water cycle.
Press play to watch it. If you want to read subtitles you have to click on "Choose language" and to choose the option "English 100%", as here:

 Pay attention and enjoy!

As you have seen in the video, THE WATER CYCLE is formed by 4 different phases:

     1. EVAPORATION: Liquid water in the sea, rivers and lakes evaporates because of the heat from the sun. The liquid water becomes water vapour.
     2. CONDENSATION: The water vapour rises in the air. It changes into tiny drops of water. The drops form clouds. The clouds move.
     3. PRECIPITATION: Water from the clouds falls to the earth as rain. If it is very cold, the water freezes and falls as snow.
     4. COLLECTION: The water from rain and snow forms rivers, lakes and ponds. If it falss on to the land, it is used by plants or becomes underground water. Some water goes into the sea or evaporates. THE WATER CYCLE STARTS AGAIN!
